Albums
Toto's discography comprises 13 studio albums as well as 4 live albums. There are also compilations. In addition to releasing original music, Toto has also done collaborations with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The band has won multiple Grammy Awards for their work.
Before Toto was formed, members of the band did session work for other musicians. Drummer Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate, and keyboardist David Paich (the son of session percussionist Marty Paich and brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro) played on Boz Scaggs 1975 album Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in 1976 following the collaboration.
The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked a change from the more progressive sound of their previous efforts and was criticized for its absence of hit singles. In 1985 the group's lead singer Fergie Frederiksen resigned from the group and the band held auditions for the new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the album Fahrenheit in 1986.
Toto released Toto XX in 1998 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the band. The group went through old tapes and recordings to create the special record. The album was well-received by fans and the band embarked on a tour featuring former members Bobby Kimball, Steve Porcaro, and Joseph Williams.
While touring for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun the drummer Leland Sklar quit the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included tour recordings and also an interview with the group.

Toto is a rock group from the United States that was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. During the tour, lead singer Bobby Kimball was arrested on drug charges. After the tour the band decided to let him go and hire singer/guitarist Joseph Williams to take his place. David Hungate, the drummer, also left the group following the tour. Leland Sklar was his replacement.

The museum's exhibits include toilets and faucets as well as tableware that have contributed to the growth of TOTO over the last half century. Toto has released numerous music videos. The band has also released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The most popular video of the group is "Africa", which has more than one billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library and shows the band performing on top of a pile of books about Africa.
The track "Africa" is from the album Toto IV. It was written by band members and produced by David Paich. It was a huge success in Europe and a variety of other countries. The single's success helped Toto get back into the limelight following their previous album, Turn Back, failed to chart in the United States.

Keyboardist Paich was frequent on records by Steely Dan, Seals and Crofts, and Sonny and Cher.
In 1998, Toto began working on a special project called Old Is New. The album featured three brand new tracks, as well as a number of finished recordings of old songs. The album became a huge hit and the band toured on tour to promote the album.

Toto known for the hit single "Africa", recently came together to promote their latest album, All In. The album was released on November 6, 2018 and featured three new songs from the upcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, as well as completed recordings of four older tracks that featured Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album also featured a cover of Weezer's song "Hash Pipe" which the band opted to include after hearing a rendition on the radio.
